We are pleased to announce that the M J Wilson Group Ltd has completed the acquisition of Flotech Solutions Ltd with effect from 2/6/2011.

The acquisition brings together two long established specialist Instrumentation companies, enabling us to combine our market expertise, geographical reach, service capabilities and technical experience, to provide customers with a broader range of products, supported by an extensive branch and field sales network throughout the U.K.

We are all very excited by the new partnership opportunities this will open up to us, which will create a much larger organisation capable of everything from trade counter sales right through to major turnkey projects.

There will be no immediate change to the way in which you interact or do business with M J Wilson Group or Flotech Solutions and your usual company representative will continue to be your point of contact.

The New Flowstrip

A new solution to Mass Flow Controller Interfacing.

Flowstrip 5 is a new concept in compact and convenient “cable free” interfacing hardware for Brooks digital mass flow devices, S, SLA and 4800 Series, which have their ‘D’ connector mounted on the top surface.

The Flowstrip 5 provides power and USB-RS485 communication to 5 digital flow devices. Simply pre align and mount the flow device on the Flowstrip mounting plate and press the Flowstrip into position to create a quick and easy plug and play solution in minutes.

This solution, along with the Brooks Smart Interface 0260 software, provides a fast, out-of -the-box solution, to controlling your Brooks Mass Flow devices.

UKAS ISO 17025 Accreditation.

Flotech Solutions has been awarded the prestigious UKAS accreditation for their gas flow calibration laboratory. Gas flow calibration can now be carried out at our Stockport facility in accordance with the exacting standard of ISO / IEC 17025:2005 further enhancing our existing laboratory calibration standards. As an addition to the internationally recognised NIST and NMI traceable standards which Flotech currently operate, the implementation of the ISO 17025 quality management system with it’s ability to highlight specifically derived uncertainties, now offers our customers an even greater level of confidence and assurance when seeking measurements relying upon accuracy and repeatability for important process applications.

Flotech Solutions are today off to the Harrogate International Centre to set up our stand for the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers annual event.

The show is open on the 13th & 14th April, and will see a wide variety of professionals from across the UK, Europe and the USA visiting to check out the latest industry innovations, network with colleagues and learn about new legislation and other industry issues.

Flotech Solutions will be exhibiting the latest Brodie BiRotor Plus flow meters and Valves on stand C48. These PD meters are the most accurate in the world and are specifically designed for tanker loading and Ethanol blending duties.

You already know Flotech as the U.K. distributor for the Brooks range of Mass flow controllers and Variable Area flowmeters. But did you know that Brooks now manufacture a complete range of Magnetic Level Gauges and Float Level Switches for a wide range of challenging process applications?

These robust magnetic level gauges and switches provide reliable liquid level measurement through the use of proven magnetic float technology which does not require any external power to operate. With this very simple but effective technology, engineers can continue to monitor liquid levels in tanks and vessels despite any unplanned power cuts. New Brooks Smart Interface Software

Watch the new Brooks Instrument 0260 software package in action.

The 0260 package is a Microsoft Windows based software application which provides expanded control and monitoring capabilities for Brooks Mass flow meters and controllers with the RS485 Smart Protocol.

Together with the 0260 power supply/ RS485 to USB hardware module, this product provides a fantastic turnkey solution for monitoring and controlling up to 30 mass flow meters/controllers.

The BSI software allows the user to:

· display full scale flow rate

· display the measured flow rate

· display and adjust the set point

· display the device/alarm status

· display and change valve over ride (VOR) status

This software tool also provides data logging, batching, blending and the ability to create automated process recipes.

The control electronics and multidrop cable is supplied as a kit. It is the complete cost effective out- of- the- box solution to get your Brooks Instrument digital mass flow devices up and running in minutes.
